July 28, 2021The Florida SouthWestern State Athletic Department brought home an NJCAA high three awards in the 2YSIDA Graphics & Publications Contest for the 2020-2021 athletic year, claiming 1st place accolades for their team schedule poster and game notes while earning 2nd place in the gameday graphics category. -

FSW Proves Home of Champions In and Out of the Classroom
May 03, 2021Friday, 38 Florida SouthWestern State student-athletes from five different sports, six different countries, and countless different backgrounds, walked across the stage in Suncoast Credit Union Arena to receive their diplomas during the Bucs commencement ceremony. One thing they all had in common; each left Fort Myers as champions, having all won at least one Conference Championship during their time at FSW. -

Bucs See Season End at Hands of Commodores Once Again
April 08, 2021The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers FCSAA State Tournament run came to a close Wednesday night the same way it had the past three seasons, with a loss to the Gulf Coast State Commodores. Unlike the other three years though, FSW had a real shot on Wednesday, taking a fourth quarter lead before seeing it disappear and the Commodores run away with an 81-71 win to end the Bucs season. -

Williams Named Player of the Year, Leads Five Bucs On All-Conference Team
April 03, 2021The Southern Conference Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were well represented on this season's All-Conference Team as freshman Patience Williams was named the conference's Player of the Year and four other players earned honors as released by the league this week. -
FSW Wins 2020-2021 Southern Conference Championship
March 30, 2021Saturday, the Miami Dade Sharks ruined the day of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as they dashed the Bucs chances for a Southern Conference Championship with a 67-65 win in FSW's final conference game of the season. Monday, the Sharks made up for it, upsetting #21 Indian River 71-66 to give the Bucs the 2020-2021 Southern Conference Championship, the Bucs fourth straight conference title across their move from the Suncoast to the Southern Conference. -
Bucs Start Slow, Finish Strong Against DME
March 29, 2021For three quarters, it was a grind for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Monday night in their 2020-2021 regular season finale against DME Academy. Thankfully the Bucs woke up in the fourth quarter, lighting the scoreboard up for 35 points to come from behind and finish off an 80-62 win to improve to 13-5 on the year. -
Bucs Comeback Bid Comes Up Just Short Against Miami Dade
March 27, 2021The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took care of what they thought was going to be the hard part of their final week of Southern Conference play on Wednesday, defeating #18 Indian River to take over first place in the conference standings, but little did they know, Saturday's matchup against Miami Dade, who had won just one conference game all season going into the afternoon, would be the ones to dash their hopes as the Sharks raced out to a 25 point second half lead before holding off a late comeback by FSW for a 67-65 win. After 40 grueling minutes against the Sharks Saturday, the Bucs now turn to Miami Dade fans as their Conference Championship hopes lie in the Sharks' fins. A Miami Dade win over Indian River Monday gives the Bucs the Southern crown while a Pioneer victory would send the title to Fort Pierce. -
Retamales Steals the Show in Sophomore Night Upset of #18 Indian River
March 24, 2021Someone forgot to tell Florida SouthWestern State freshman Macarena Retamales that Wednesday night's game against #18 Indian River was set as the Bucs' sophomore night, but the four FSW Class of 2021 sophomores didn't mind. Retamales went off for a career high 23 points, leading the Bucs to a 67-64 win to bring FSW to within one win of their fourth straight Conference Championship. -
Bucs Clinch Spot in State Tournament With Win Over Palm Beach
March 20, 2021With March Madness beginning in Indianapolis and San Antonio this week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers assured that they would be competing in some March (April) Madness of their own this season, beating Palm Beach State 68-61 to punch their ticket to Niceville and the 2021 FCSAA State Tournament. -
Eight Former Bucs Headed to the Big Dance
March 18, 2021Let the madness begin! This year's NCAA Tournaments will be packed with former Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as with the release of the men's bracket on Sunday, eight different players who have donned the Purple and Aqua will be playing in the Big Dance. Seven former FSW Men's players will take center stage in Indianapolis, thought to be the most of any junior college program in the country, while Nairimar Vargas-Reyes will represent the Bucs with Stony Brook on the women's side. -

March 17, 2021The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers earned their 10th win of the season Wednesday night in North Carolina, defeating Warren Wilson 74-50 to wrap up their trip to the Tar Heel State. -
Bucs Take Round One in North Carolina
March 16, 2021While most spring breakers are heading to sunny Florida for their week off of school, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers headed the other way to North Carolina to play two games in two days in the Tar Heel State. In their first game of the trip, the Bucs took care of business, getting 16 points from A'Moni Waiters and a double-double from Tyshonne Tollie as they rolled past the Caldwell Tech Cobras 94-59 to improve to 9-4 on the year. -

Bucs Drop Top 25 Matchup With Pioneers
March 06, 2021It was supposed to be a Top 25 showdown for the #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #23 Indian River State Pioneers Saturday afternoon in Fort Pierce, but somebody forgot to tell the Bucs who fell behind 16-4 early and played catch up the rest of the way, eventually falling 61-53 for their second straight Southern Conference defeat. -
