    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers earned a key Citrus Conference road win on Wednesday, making the trip over the Skyway Bridge for an 81-58 victory over St. Petersburg behind a dominating effort on the inside from big men Chol Machot and Jafeth Martinez who combined for 36 points in the win. 
  • Bucs Ride Hot Start to Win Over Saints

    It was too cold for the Santa Fe Saints to travel to Fort Myers for their originally scheduled game against the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers three weeks ago, but the Bucs made sure that wasn't the case in Monday's make up game, getting out to a scorching hot start, putting up 59 points in the first half in route to a 95-77 win to move one step closer to punching their ticket for the upcoming FCSAA Tournament in Niceville.
  • Overtime Drought Does In Bucs at Polk

    The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers led nearly the entire 40 minutes of regulation Saturday afternoon in their Citrus Conference matchup with the Polk State Eagles, but a late comeback by Polk forced overtime and FSW failed to record a field goal in the extra period, falling to Polk for the first time in program history 80-73 to drop to 13-9 on the year. 
  • Balanced Attack Leads Bucs Past Hawks

    Five Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers scored in double figures and the Bucs defense held the Hillsborough Hawks to just four first half field goals as FSW raced past HCC 74-57 in Citrus Conference action Wednesday night at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.

    Despite early foul trouble just three minutes into Wednesday night's game against the #21 Eastern Florida State Titans, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers battled for 40 minutes but were unable to get over the hump as they fell 68-63 to drop to 12-8 on the year. 
  • Bucs Streak Snapped By 4th Ranked Falcons

    For 20 minutes, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers went toe to toe with the #4 Daytona State Falcons Saturday afternoon at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, but in the end, the Falcons, winners of 17 in a row, were just too much for the Purple and Aqua, pulling away early in the second half and never looking back to hand the Bucs an 80-61 defeat to snap a five game Buccaneer win streak.
  • Bucs Win Fifth Straight In Rout of Indian River

    The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers won their fifth straight game Wednesday night, shaking off a slow start for an 84-63 win over Indian River to set up a battle for first place in the Citrus Conference standings Saturday afternoon when the Bucs take on Daytona State in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers shot 55% in the first half and matched that with another 55% showing in the second half Saturday afternoon as they flew past the Miami Dade Sharks for a key 74-56 Citrus Conference Road win to improve to 4-1 in league play. 
  • Bucs/Saints Basketball Doubleheader Wednesday Postponed

    Wednesday’s Florida SouthWestern vs. Santa Fe Women’s & Men’s Basketball doubleheader has been postponed due to Santa Fe not being able to travel to Fort Myers for the contest with cold weather expected in the Gainesville area overnight and into the morning. The Women's game will be played January 29th at 5 PM while the Men's game will be played on February 17th at 5 PM, both at Suncoast Arena in Fort Myers. Fans with tickets to Wednesday’s game can hold onto those to use for the makeup games once they are scheduled.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got off to a hot start and then hung on for dear life late for a 69-66 Citrus Conference win over old Suncoast Conference rival St. Petersburg Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers. 
  • Bucs Soar Past Eagles For Conference Win

    For the second straight game, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers turned to their defense to secure a Citrus Conference victory Wednesday night at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, holding the visiting Polk State Eagles to just 36% shooting while forcing 20 Eagle turnovers in a 75-65 win to improve to 9-6 on the year.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers tightened up the screws on the defensive end, holding the Hillsborough Hawks to nearly 30 points under their season scoring average for a 58-57 win in Citrus Conference play Saturday afternoon in Tampa.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers battled the #24 Eastern Florida State Titans to the wire Saturday afternoon in their Citrus Conference opener, but came up just short, dropping a 74-68 decision to fall to 6-7 on the year.

    A day after putting up a huge second half to force overtime against a Top 20 opponent, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers struggled in the second half on the final day of 2024 Tuesday, watching a halftime lead evaporate in an 80-70 loss to Gulf Coast State to close out their non-conference schedule 6-6.  
  • Big Second Half Not Enough For Bucs In OT Loss

    After a slow start, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put together a furious second half comeback to force overtime against the #18 Frank Phillips Plainsmen Monday afternoon in Panama City, but they couldn't carry the momentum over into the extra period as Frank Phillips outscored the Bucs 17-10 in overtime for a 78-71 win in FSW's penultimate game of 2024.

    The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers finished the first half of their 2024-2025 season with a bang Saturday afternoon at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, putting up a 102 points in a 102-61 blowout of Victory Rock Prep.
  • Parker/Silva's Big Nights Not Enough For Bucs in Loss to #17 Monroe

    K'jei Parker and Breno Silva combined for 49 points, but it wasn't enough for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Friday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena as they ran into a well-oiled machine of the #17 Monroe Mustangs who shot 52% from the field and 47% from the three point line to run away with a 90-75 win to open the 2024 FSW Classic in Fort Myers.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers battled hard in their second game in less than 24 hours Saturday afternoon in the Florida Juco Shootout in Tallahassee, but came up short in the end, dropping an 81-76 decision to the host Eagles to fall to 5-3 on the year.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers handed the DII #8 Florida State College at Jacksonville Manta Rays their first loss of the 2024 season in convincing fashion Friday night in the Reef, jumping out to a 12 point halftime lead before hanging on late for a 71-62 win to improve to 5-2 on the year.

    Despite turning it over 26 times and allowing 13 offensive rebounds, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had a chance to win Saturday afternoon in the Jim Cox Classic in Miami, but couldn't get a last second stop as Southern Union State used a pair of offensive boards and three opportunities to score to clip the Bucs 85-84 at the buzzer to send FSW to their second straight loss.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got off to a hot start and never looked back Friday afternoon in a matinee affair with the Albany Tech Titans in Georgia, turning a 44-15 halftime lead into an 89-55 blowout win to close out a perfect opening weekend in the Peach State. 
  • Bucs Crash the Glass For Win In 2024 Opener

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers used a dominating effort on the glass to come away with a 68-57 win over Lurleen B. Wallace in their 2024-2025 season opener on the road in Georgia on Thursday.  The win, the first of the Darrin Wallace Era for the Bucs, was secured thanks to a +25 mark in the rebounding category and a balanced scoring attack that included four players in double figures for FSW.
