  • Bucs On Opposite Ends of Blowouts Against #18 Central Florida

    It was the tale of two games on Saturday for the #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as the Bucs cruised to their ninth straight win in a 10-0 five inning run rule in game one of their Citrus Conference doubleheader agianst the #18 Central Florida Patriots, but in game two it was quite the opposite story as the Patriots put it on FSW 14-3 in a five inning run rule of their own to split the doubleheader.

    The #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their eighth straight game Thursday afternoon on the road in Ocala, using four RBI days from Nik Pereira and Ty Hamilton to blow past the #18 Central Florida Patriots 11-5 to begin a key three game Citrus Conference series between the two.

    The #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers launched four home runs in a 13-3 run rule rout of the South Florida State Panthers Tuesday night in Avon Park to give FSW Head Coach Zac Cole his 100th career win with the Purple and Aqua.

    The #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers continued to pile up runs on Saturday, putting up 11 runs in both halves of their Citrus Conference doubleheader against the Santa Fe Saints, winning game one 11-8 before taking an 11-9 decision in game two to sweep their second straight conference series and get back to within one game of the league lead with nine games left to go.

    The #10 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their fourth straight game via run rule, jumping on the Santa Fe Saints early and never looking back Thursday at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, shutting out the Saints 9-0 in the opening game of a three game Citrus Conference series between the two.

    One day after becoming the first Buccaneer hitter to earn FCSAA Player of the Week honors this season, Florida SouthWestern slugger Carlos Sanchez one upped himself as he became the first Buc in the past three seasons to pick up NJCAA National Player of the Week honors.

  • Former Buc Ryan Gusto Makes MLB Debut

    Six long months after getting his call to the Big Leagues, former Florida SouthWestern ace Ryan Gusto finally got the chance to make his Major League Baseball debut on Monday, throwing two scoreless innings for the Houston Astros in their game against the San Francisco Giants, joining Carlos Rodriguez as the only two FSW players to represent the Bucs in MLB.

    The #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show Friday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, hammering Daytona State 12-0 and 17-3 in a pair of five inning run rules to complete the three game sweep of the Falcons in Citrus Conference action.

    Coming off of a disappointing series loss against Eastern Florida a week ago, the #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers came out swinging on Thursday in their series opener against Daytona State, getting a three run home run from Jake Mueller in the 1st to take an early lead and they never looked back, ultimately hammering the Falcons 10-2 in an eight inning run rule to take the lead in the three game set between the two.

    After throwing five innings of one hit Baseball last week, Florida SouthWestern righthander Brandon Eldridge has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week as announced by the State on Tuesday.

    A rough Saturday at the ballpark cost the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday as the Bucs slid eight spots to #13 in the week five poll. 
  • Late Lapses Cost Bucs Series Against Titans

    A pair of late lapses cost the #5 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers two games Saturday afternoon at home against Eastern Florida at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers as FSW allowed five runs with two outs in the 9th of game one to lose 11-8 and gave up three in the 8th in game two to fall 5-2 to drop the Citrus Conference series to the Titans.

    Eight players recorded multi-hit games as the #5 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a clinic with the bats Thursday night under the lights at Bruce Bochy Field in Melbourne, defeating the Eastern Florida State Titans 15-9 to take the early lead in the three game Citrus Conference series between the two.

    The #5 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers scored early and often Tuesday afternoon, hammering the visiting State College of Florida Manatees 11-1 in non-league action to improve to 24-7 on the year.

    For the second straight week, the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers fell flat in game one of their Saturday doubleheader, but woke up and put up a big number in game two as they split a pair of games with Seminole State, losing game one 5-1 and winning game two 13-8 to clinch another Citrus Conference series win to keep them within one game of the conference lead.

    Abel Albarran and Josiah Velazquez combined on a five hit shutout as the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers blanked the Seminole State Raiders 6-0 in the opening game of a three game series Thursday at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers.

    Andrew McLaughlin fired five shutout innings to lead the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a 10-0 game one win over the Hillsborough Hawks Saturday afternoon in Tampa, but the Bucs couldn't win the second game of the doubleheader to take the series, falling 8-7 to drop to 16-5 on the year.

    The #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers' bats were stymied by Hillsborough pitching Thursday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers as FSW managed just two hits in a 5-1 loss to the Hawks to begin their three game Citrus Conference series. 
  • 9th Inning Comeback Earns Bucs Tie
    February 25, 2025
    Down 5-3 heading into the 9th inning, the #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers scored a pair of runs to level the score against the St. Petersburg Titans Tuesday night. They wouldn't be able to complete the comeback however as a dust up at the end of the 9th forced the game to be called on the spot with the Bucs and Titans settling for the time being with a 5-5 tie in non-conference action. 
  • Bucs Earn Highest National Ranking in Program History
    February 24, 2025
    Off to a 15-3 start to the 2025 season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have earned the highest national ranking in program history in the first NJCAA poll of the regular season as FSW checked in at #2 behind Weatherford in the week one rankings.
