Baziquetto-Allen to Take Over at FGCU
After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to three straight NJCAA National Championship, the only Head Coach in FSW Volleyball history, Thais Baziquetto-Allen, has resigned to take over the Head Coaching position at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Bucs Trio Honored by AVCA
A trio of Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in their postseason awards release recently as Julija Grubisic Cabo was named a 1st Team All-American, Abby Toeniskoetter was named a 2nd Team All-American, and Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named the Northeast/Southeast Regional Coach of the Year.
Grubisic Cabo Earns NJCAA National Player of the Year Honors
For the third consecutive season, the NJCAA National Player of the Year award belongs to a Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneer as Thursday, the NJCAA announced that sophomore Julija Grubisic Cabo was the 2024 recipient after leading FSW to a 26-1 record and a record third straight NJCAA Division I National Championship.
Koehler & Purashaj Set to Become First Bucs to Play in NCAA Tournament
Still in it’s infancy, the FSW Volleyball program has had a number of firsts over the past few years. Thursday another milestone will be reached as Barbara Koehler and Roberta Purashaj will become the first two Buccaneer alumns to play in the NCAA Division I Tournament.
