Waiters Headed to Motor City to Play For Detroit Mercy
FORT MYERS, Fla.- After helping the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to back to back Conference Championships, sophomore forward A'Moni Waiters has signed with the University of Detroit Mercy where she will play at the NCAA Division I level with the Titans next season.

Waiters played in 34 games over the past two seasons for the Bucs, averaging 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.  She had her best two offensive games of her FSW career in back to back games during the Bucs' Spring Break trip this season, first scoring a career high 16 against Caldwell Tech in a 94-59 win and following that up with an 11 point performance in a win over Warren Wilson one day later.

The Titans will be under new direction next season after assistant LaTayna Collins was promoted to Interim Head Coach earlier this month.  Detroit Mercy was 1-13 in 2020-2021 before deciding to end their season prematurely due to Covid-19 precautions.

Waiters is the third Buc to sign a Division I National Letter of Intent this season joining Patience Williams (South Florida) and Sheslanie Laureano (George Washington).
