  • Bucs Season Comes To A Close In Sweet 16

    The #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers saw their 2024-2025 season come to a close Friday afternoon in the NJCAA National Tournament Sweet 16, battling to the end, but coming up just short against #3 New Mexico 62-56 to finish their campaign 25-6. 
  • Defense Propels Bucs to Opening Round Win at National Tournament

    The #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers held the Itawamba Lady Indians to just 36 points in a 61-36 win at the NJCAA National Tournament in Casper, Wyoming Wednesday afternoon.  It is the Bucs first win at the National Tournament since the 2019 season and pushes FSW on to the Sweet 16 where they will take on #3 New Mexico Friday. 
  • Tina Stephens Becomes First Bucs Basketball Player Elected to FCSAA WBB Hall of Fame

    While the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were in the midst of their postseason run last week in Niceville, one of their own was being honored, as two-time All-American Tina Stephens was elected to the FCSAA Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, making her the first Buccaneer Basketball player in program history to do so.

    For the first time since 2020, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are headed back to the NJCAA National Tournament after the Bucs earned one of eight at-large bids announced by the NJCAA on Sunday. 
  • Cold Shooting Dooms Bucs in FCSAA Semis

    The #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers picked a bad time for their second worst shooting game of the season Friday afternoon in Niceville, hitting on just 32% from the field in a 66-54 loss to #4 Chipola to bring their run at the FCSAA Championships to an end in the round of four.  FSW will now have to play the waiting game to see if they have earned an at large bid for the NJCAA National Tournament which will be announced on Sunday.

    The #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers opened their 2025 postseason run with a victory Wednesday afternoon in Niceville, dominating from wire to wire in a 64-42 win over the Pensacola State Pirates in the first round of the FCSAA Tournament.

    The Citrus Conference Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had a pair of players named to the All-FCSAA Team on Monday as their backcourt duo of Samantha Serrano and Asiana Britt were both named to the squad after standout seasons for the Purple and Aqua.
  • Citrus Champs Pick Up #3 Seed For FCSAA Championships

    After winning their final eight games of the regular season and pulling away with the Citrus Conference Championship, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have drawn the #3 seed for the upcoming FCSAA Championships in Niceville and will take on the red hot Pensacola State Pirates in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday.
  • Bucs Starting Five Named All-Conference, Serrano Player of the Year

    After winning their first Citrus Conference Championship in three seasons, five Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored by the league on Friday as Georgi Buzzetti, Asiana Britt, Ivy Brown, and Sarah Owona were named to the All-Conference Team while Samantha Serrano was named the Citrus Conference Player of the Year and FSW Head Coach Jamie Fisher was named the Coach of the Year.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will head into the NJCAA postseason ranked #12 as the final National Rankings of the 2024-2025 season were released on Monday with the Bucs in the top dozen teams in the country.
  • Bucs Win Eighth Straight to Close Regular Season

    No team will head to the 2025 FCSAA Tournament hotter than the #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as FSW won their eighth straight game Monday night, going on the road and defeating the Daytona State Falcons 78-52 to close the regular season 23-4. 
  • Bucs Sophs Lead the Way in Final Home Game

    Showered with cheers before, during, and after Wednesday night's game against the Miami Dade Sharks, the Citrus Conference Champion #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers shined in their final home game of the 2025 season as Sarah Owona scored a career high 22 points, Georgi Buzzetti dished out a career best 10 assists, and Ivy Brown ripped down 14 rebounds as FSW avenged their only loss of conference play with a 74-60 win over the Sharks.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are the 2025 Citrus Conference Champions! FSW went on the road and took care of business against the Santa Fe Saints 75-56, with five players scoring in double figures including Sarah Owona and Elina Briede who notched career highs as the Bucs improved to 15-1 in league play to clinch the title with two regular season games left to go.

    A wild game of runs came with an even wilder finish Wednesday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena as the visiting Hillsborough Hawks took a two point lead with :01 remaining on the clock just to see Samantha Serrano nail a three pointer at the buzzer to give the #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers a 66-65 win and keep FSW atop the Citrus Conference standings.

    The outside shots weren't falling Saturday afternoon for the #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, but that didn't matter as they used their size on the inside to score 46 points in the paint and a grinding defensive effort to run past the visiting Daytona State Falcons 76-51 to improve to 11-1 in Citrus Conference play this season.

    It was blood in the water for the Miami Dade Sharks Saturday afternoon as they jumped on the #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers early and never relented, taking a 21-2 lead to start the game in route to a 77-51 victory to bring FSW's 13 game winning streak to a screeching halt. 
  • Bucs/Saints Basketball Doubleheader Wednesday Postponed
    January 21, 2025
    Wednesday’s Florida SouthWestern vs. Santa Fe Women’s & Men’s Basketball doubleheader has been postponed due to Santa Fe not being able to travel to Fort Myers for the contest with cold weather expected in the Gainesville area overnight and into the morning. The Women's game will be played January 29th at 5 PM while the Men's game will be played on February 17th at 5 PM, both at Suncoast Arena in Fort Myers. Fans with tickets to Wednesday’s game can hold onto those to use for the makeup games once they are scheduled.

    The #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got off to a slow start Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, managing just 27 first half points against the St. Petersburg Titans, but they just about doubled that number in the third quarter and then again in the fourth to run away with a 75-50 win to remain unbeaten at 9-0 in Citrus Conference action.
  • Bucs Survive Second Straight Road Scare

    It was a battle of the #15s Wednesday night in Lake Worth as the NJCAA Division I #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers headed to the East Coast to take on the NJCAA Division II #15 Palm Beach State Panthers. FSW got off to a sluggish start in the first half and trailed by seven at the halftime break before storming back behind freshman Samantha Serrano for a 63-61 win at the final horn.
