TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a Citrus Conference sweep of the Daytona State Falcons over the weekend, Bucs sophomore Carlos Sanchez has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as announced by the State on Tuesday.

Sanchez was 6-9 in three games for the Bucs, finishing with three doubles, a triple, and 11 RBIs against the Falcons. He slugged 1.222 on the weekend and posted an eye popping 1.922 OPS while also stealing a base in all three games in the sweep for FSW.  In game one of the series on Thursday he went 2-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs to lead the Bucs to a 10-2 run rule win.  Saturday he had a monster day, going 2-3 with a double and five RBIs in a 12-0 game one win for the Bucs followed by a 2-2 three RBI game in a 17-3 blowout in game two to complete the sweep.

On the season Sanchez is hitting .338 with an FCSAA leading 16 doubles, four home runs, and 42 RBIs while also going 21-24 in stolen base attempts. He is one of just two players in the state this season with 10 or more doubles and 20 or more stolen bases on the year.

Sanchez and the Bucs are back in action on Thursday at home against Santa Fe in a 3 PM first pitch from Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers.
