Big Series Win Shoots Bucs Up Five Spots In National Rankings

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Winning three of four games last week including a key series win over State College of Florida, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped up five spots in the NJCAA National Rankings to #6 in the week three poll on Monday.

The Bucs opened the week with a hard fought 6-4 win over D2 #24 Pasco Hernando before taking the book ends of their series with State College of Florida, including a 15-14 walk off thriller in the finale to win the series against the Manatees. The win moved the Bucs to 20-6 overall on the season while putting them at 8-4 in Citrus Conference action where they sit one game back of Polk State after four series.

The top three in this week's poll remain unchanged with Weatherford leading the way and Southern Nevada and Northwest Florida behind them. LSU-Eunice jumped to #4 while Shelton State shot up four spots to #5 in front of the Bucs at #6. Indian River moved back into the Top 10 at #10 while Gulf Coast (#12), Central Florida (#17), and Chipola (#25) gave Florida five teams in the Top 25.

The Bucs are back in action on Tuesday at home against TNXL Academy in a 3 PM first pitch before beginning another key three game conference series with Seminole State at home on Thursday.
