TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After throwing five innings of one hit Baseball last week, Florida SouthWestern righthander Brandon Eldridge has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week as announced by the State on Tuesday.
Eldridge started his big week by firing four shutout innings, allowing just one hit in an 11-1 win over State College of Florida on Tuesday at Buccaneers Park. He earned the win in relief, improving to 3-1 on the year with the victory. Saturday he entered in relief in a 2-2 ballgame against Eastern Florida and put up a zero in an inning of work for the Bucs in an eventual 5-2 loss to the Titans.
On the year Eldridge is 3-1 with a 4.50 ERA. He has logged 22 innings, striking out 25 for the Purple and Aqua.
Eldridge and the Bucs are back in action on Thursday at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers when they host Daytona State to begin a three game Citrus Conference series between the two.
