Bucs Continue Climb Up National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Two more wins gained the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers two more spots in the NJCAA National Rankings released on Tuesday as the Bucs continue their climb up the poll to #13, their highest ranking of the 2024-2025 season.

The Bucs won their 12th and 13th consecutive games last week, sneaking past DII #15 Palm Beach State 63-61 on Wednesday before using a late surge to beat St. Petersburg 75-50 on Saturday.  FSW sits at 15-3 on the year with their last two losses coming to the new #1 team in the land, Northwest Florida in mid-November.

There was significant movement in the week eight poll with upsets around the country. Of the Top 25 teams, only one, Wabash Valley at #7 remained in the same spot from the week seven poll. Northwest Florida took over at #1 with New Mexico and Three Rivers sliding up two spots to #2 and #3 and Dodge City and Hutchinson rounding out the Top 5. Five Florida squads were in the Top 25 with Northwest Florida leading the way, undefeated Chipola at #6, Gulf Coast State at #9, FSW at #13, and Eastern Florida at #22.

The Bucs were scheduled to play at home Wednesday against Santa Fe, but that game has been postponed due to travel issues for the Saints and FSW will now take the court next on Saturday when they make the trip across Alligator Alley for a big Citrus Conference matchup beginning at 2 PM.
