  • 38 Bucs Earn NJCAA All-Academic Team Honors

    Following another strong season on the court and in the field for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, their accomplishments in the classroom once again matched that success as 38 Bucs were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Teams on Thursday for posting a 3.60 or better GPA for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Eight Bucs Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

    Following another outstanding year both in the classroom and in competition, eight Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Bucs eight student-athletes honored were the only junior college student-athletes in the state of Florida to earn the honors.

    On a night that celebrated the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers' three sophomores playing their final home games in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, it was the Bucs freshmen that stole the show Monday night as Ivy Brown posted a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double and Roksana Sajdak scored a career high 16 as FSW pushed late to defeat Daytona State 78-66 and head to next week's FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville with a win.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put together their second best shooting night of the season Saturday on the road against the Indian River State Pioneers, hitting 56% of their shots from the field and 42% from the three point line, but they couldn't overcome their most turnovers since the opening game of the season as they fell 89-86 in overtime to give the Pioneers the season series between the two.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are headed back to the postseason after securing an 81-68 road win over the Miami Dade Sharks Wednesday night to punch their ticket to the FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville in two weeks.

    The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers led the Daytona State Falcons by five midway through the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, but they managed just one field goal over the final five minutes of the game as Daytona erased the Bucs lead and went ahead for a 64-61 win to stun FSW in Citrus Conference action.

    After a slow start, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers stepped on the gas late, putting up a 27 point fourth quarter for a 67-64 come from behind win over the Santa Fe Saints Thursday night in Gainesville. 
  • Bucs Come Up Short at Hillsborough

    Buckets were hard to come by for both sides Tuesday night as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took on the Hillsborough Hawks in Citrus Conference action in Tampa, but in the end, the Hawks made one more shot than the Bucs, outlasting FSW for a 54-51 win to leapfrog the Bucs for second place in the conference standings. 
  • Bucs Go Toe to Toe With #9 Eastern, Fall Late 75-67

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers gave it their best shot Wednesday night in front of their home crowd in Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, but at the end of the day, the #9 Eastern Florida State Titans, winners of 17 games in a row, were just too much as the Titans edged out the Bucs late 75-67 to all but seal up the inaugural Citrus Conference Championship.

    Trailing by 13 against Miami Dade midway through the third quarter, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers turned to freshman Makenna Shaffer Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena and the rookie delivered, pouring in 18 of her game high 21 points in the final 12 minutes to lead FSW to a 44-39 come from behind victory in Citrus Conference play.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers turned up the screws on the defensive end Saturday afternoon in St. Petersburg, tying a program record for least points allowed in a conference game as they blew past the St. Petersburg Titans 67-33 in Citrus Conference action to improve to 5-2 in league play on the season.

  • Bucs Shine In the Classroom This Fall

    Not only did the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers student-athletes star on the court and in the field this Fall, but they were equally as good in the classroom where for the first time in Bucs Athletics history all five FSW teams posted a 3.0 or better team GPA while the Bucs 90 student-athletes combined for a school record 3.26 GPA.
