Bucs Fan Favorite Federica Lagana Signs With Railsplitters

FORT MYERS, Fla.- After two years with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, fan favorite Federica Lagana has signed to move on to the next level after inking her National Letter of Intent to play at Lincoln Memorial University next season.

Lagana played in 53 games for the Bucs the past two seasons, drawing 13 starts as a sophomore in 2023-2024. She averaged 3.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game from her point guard spot, but it was her work on the defensive end that FSW fans will miss the most.  Lagana picked up 72 steals this season which ranked 3rd in the Citrus Conference and also ranked 3rd in a single season in Bucs program history.  She tied an FSW single game record in mid-January when she finished with nine steals in a 67-33 Bucs win over St. Petersburg.

She will join a Lincoln Memorial program coming off of a 19-8 campaign in 2023-2024. The Railsplitters finished 14-6 in South Atlantic Conference action, good for a 3rd place finish in the league.

Lagana is one of three Bucs to sign to play at the next level next season joining Makenna Shaffer (Buffalo) and Addison Potts (Cal State Northridge).
