  • Bucs Sweep Regular Season Finale, Await At-Large Call

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers closed out their first regular season in program history in style on Tuesday in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, sweeping State College of Florida 3-0 for their fifth win in their past six matches.  The Bucs now await a decision from the state’s volleyball committee as to whether they have done enough to earn one of the two at-large bids for the State Tournament, or if Tuesday was the final time they would take the court in 2019.
  • FSW Earns First Votes Towards NJCAA Top 20 Poll

    In a season of historic firsts, the Florida SouthWestern State Volleyball team added another accomplishment to the list on Monday as they picked up their first vote for the NJCAA Top 20 Poll, making them one of six teams not in the top 20, but ‘receiving votes’ this week. 
  • Bucs Fight, But Fall On the Road to #15 Hillsborough

    A young Florida SouthWestern State squad went on the road into a tough environment Thursday in Tampa and battled #15 Hillsborough tooth and nail, but in the end came up just short in a 3-1 loss to the Hawks to snap a four game win streak. 
  • Alonso Named FCSAA Setter of the Week

    On the heels of a 3-0 week, Florida SouthWestern State setter Marina Alonso has been named the FCSAA Setter of the Week, the second straight week a Buc has won a weekly award in the NJCAA’s top region. 
  • Bucs Upend #9 St. Petersburg

    It was another historic night for the Florida SouthWestern State Volleyball program Tuesday night as the Buccaneers went on the road and earned their first win over a top 10 ranked opponent in program history as they controlled the pace in a 3-1 victory against #9 St. Petersburg to improve to 12-6 on the year.
  • Mendes/De Sa Lead Bucs to Third Straight Win

    Amanda Mendes recorded her first career double-double and Julia de Sa hammered home a game high 17 kills as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rolled past the visiting Palm Beach State Panthers 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
  • Bucs Earn Key Win Over Indian River

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers used a well-rounded effort Friday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena to sweep the visiting Indian River Pioneers 3-0 and earn a key late season victory in their push for their first postseason berth.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers accomplished another program first in their inaugural campaign on Tuesday, going on the road to defeat State College of Florida 3-0 to claim their first Suncoast Conference victory in history.

    For the first time in program history, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have an FCSAA Player of the Week as Tuesday, freshman Viktoria Ivanova was named the state’s Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance against #10 Hillsborough. 
  • Mendes/Leweling's Big Nights Not Enough For Bucs Against 10th Ranked Hawks

    If you just looked at Amanda Mendes and Anna Leweling’s final stat lines from Florida SouthWestern’s Suncoast Conference match Thursday at home against #10 Hillsborough, you would think that the Bucs would have had a pretty good chance to win.  After all, the two freshmen combined for 28 kills and a .350 hitting percentage in just three sets against the Lady Hawks.  Unfortunately, the rest of the FSW hitters combined for only 13 kills and a .041 hitting mark as the Bucs dropped a pair of sets 25-23 and the other 25-20 to drop to 8-6 overall and 0-2 to start their first Suncoast Conference campaign. 
  • Titans Ruin Bucs Suncoast Debut

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were hoping that Tuesday was going to be a night to remember as they took on #17 St. Petersburg in their inaugural Suncoast Conference match. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite as the Bucs were swept off the floor 3-0 by the Titans, dropping them to 8-5 on the year.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers picked up a key non-conference win Saturday afternoon on the road at Broward, outlasting the Seahawks in a five set battle that included 53 ties and 19 lead changes.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers saw their season best five match win streak come to an abrupt halt on Friday night in Miami, falling 3-0 to #3 Miami Dade to drop to 7-4 overall on the year. 
  • Bucs Finish Off Perfect Weekend With Pair of Wins

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up a 3-0 weekend at the FSCJ Tournament of Champions on Saturday, defeating Eastern Florida 3-0 in their first match of the morning, followed by a 3-1 win over Virginia’s Richard Bland to push them to 7-3 on the year. 
  • De Sa's Career Night Leads Bucs to Third Straight Win

    Florida SouthWestern State freshman Julia de Sa pounded down a career high 19 kills, including nine in a clinching fourth set as the Buccaneers made the long trip to Jacksonville and came away with a 3-1 win against Florida State College at Jacksonville Friday night, giving FSW three straight wins for the first time in their young history. 
  • FSW Earns Pair of Signature Early Season Wins

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers earned the best two wins in their young program history on Tuesday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, downing previously undefeated Broward 3-1 and backing that up with a 3-1 victory over #15 Central Florida, their first win over an NJCAA Division I ranked opponent in program history.

    After earning a pair of wins on opening day of the 2019 NJCAA Volleyball season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers came back to Earth on Saturday, dropping a pair of matches to #2 Miami Dade and Central Florida, two heavyweights that have combined to win 15 of their past 16 conference championships.

    Florida SouthWestern State Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen couldn’t have drawn up a much better script on day one of the 2019 Volleyball season as her Buccaneers swept their way to a pair of victories at the Central Florida Invitational to earn the first two wins in program history.

    Starting Friday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Volleyball team will be playing for keeps as they kick off their inaugural season at the CF Volleyball Invitational Friday and Saturday in Ocala. 
  • FSW Steamrolls Ave Maria in Preseason Finale

    In their first home match in program history, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took no mercy on visiting Ave Maria Monday night in front of a raucous crowd at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, blanking the Gyrenes 3-0 in exhibition action to close out their 2019 preseason schedule. 
  • FSW Volleyball Set to Play First Home Match in Program History Monday

    For the first time in program history, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will take the court at home on Monday as they host the Ave Maria Gyrenes in exhibition action beginning at 6 pm.  Activities will begin in the arena at 3 pm when the FSW Foundation unveils the new court in Suncoast Credit Union Arena and after the match, the Bucs will hold a meet and greet where fans can get posters signed and get to know FSW’s first Volleyball team.  Admission to the match is free to all fans.

    With their 2019 season commencing Thursday with the first practice in program history , Florida SouthWestern State Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen has finalized the Buccaneers inaugural roster, bringing in 15 players representing six different countries to compete for FSW in 2019.

  • Alex Soloid Hired to Complete FSW Volleyball Staff

    Florida SouthWestern State Volleyball Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen has announced the hiring of Alex Soloid as her Assistant Coach for the Bucs’ inaugural season in 2019.
