FSW Again the Class of the FCSAA in 2019-20
FORT MYERS, Fla.- For the second consecutive season, the Florida SouthWestern State Athletics Department recorded the highest winning percentage of any team in the FCSAA.

The Bucs notched a 108-30 overall record between their five sports, good for a .783 winning percentage which topped the state for the second straight year.  FSW finished just one percentage point ahead of Seminole State, who only sponsors Baseball and Softball, and was 20 points ahead of Central Florida who was the school closest to the Bucs among the schools that offered the same five sports.  Gulf Coast St. finished fourth and Chipola was fifth to round out the top five.

The FSW Volleyball team kicked off the year for the Buccaneers, going 16-8 in their inaugural campaign.  The Bucs finished second in Suncoast Conference action with a 4-2 mark and earned two wins at the FCSAA State Tournament to finish fourth.

Coming off of their first National Tournament appearance in program history, the Bucs' Women's Basketball team went 24-7 in 2019-2020, playing one of the most challenging non-conference schedules in the country.  The Bucs won their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship with an 8-1 mark and qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament for the second straight year.

The Bucs' Men's Basketball team continued their other worldly domination once again in 2019-2020. The Bucs finished the year 29-2 overall and spent the final six weeks of the year ranked #1 in the country for the second straight season.  They put together their third straight perfect 12-0 Suncoast Conference season and also earned their third straight bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.

On the diamond at City of Palms Park, the FSW Baseball team was off to a 16-11 start to the year before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.  The Bucs' strength of schedule ranked #2 nationally by the Massey Ratings and included 10 games against teams ranked in the final poll of the year.  They had just started defense of their 2019 Suncoast Conference Championship and were off to a 3-3 start to league play.

The Bucs' Softball team was off to another one of their patented great starts. The Bucs were 23-2 on the year and ranked 3rd in the country when their season came to an unexpected halt.  Their early season resume featured wins over four ranked teams including victories over defending National Champs Chipola and defending State Champions Central Florida.  The FSW offense was off to a torrid start, averaging 10.72 runs per game and hitting .434 as a team.  In 25 games, the Bucs outscored their opponents a whopping 268-51.

The Bucs will hope to make it three years in a row atop the FCSAA in 2020-21.  FSW Volleyball will kick off the athletics year in late August with Men's and Women's Basketball following behind in November.
