  • Bucs' International Student-Athletes Face Tough Decisions in Wake of COVID-19 Pandemic

    Of the 75 athletes that originate from outside of the United States between Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Southwestern State College, a good amount are stuck in Fort Myers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • NJCAA Cancels Remainder of 2020 Winter & Spring Sport Seasons

    After careful thought and consideration, the NJCAA has decided to cancel the rest of the 2020 Athletics season due to the rapidly changing situation concerning COVID-19. The cancellation effects the Florida SouthWestern State Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams as well as the Bucs’ Baseball and Softball squads. 
  • Bucs' Joseph Inks With Jacksonville

    In the midst of a big sophomore season, Florida SouthWestern State slugger Tommy Joseph has signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his playing and academic career at Jacksonville University next season.
  • FCSAA Suspends All Competitions Through March 28th
    March 12, 2020
    Due to the continued concern of COVID-19 the the FCSAA has suspended all competitions, effective immediately, through March 28th.   At that time, the organization's Council of Presidents will reaccess the situation and determine whether they feel competition between teams is safe once again.
  • Bucs Bats Silent in Loss to Hillsborough

    Marc Davis threw seven solid innings for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team Wednesday afternoon on the road in Tampa, but the Bucs bats could never get anything going against Hillsborough pitching, managing just five hits and one run in a 6-1 loss that clinched the series win for the Hawks in the first of two sets between the two teams this season. 
  • Defense Falters in Loss to Hawks

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers' defense let them down Monday night at City of Palms Park, committing a season high five errors in an 8-4 loss to visiting Hillsborough to even up their three game Suncoast Conference season at a game apiece.  
  • FSW Runs Wild in Win Over Hawks

    One season ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team stole a school record 13 bases in a game against the Hillsborough Hawks. Saturday, they were at it again against their Suncoast Conference rivals, swiping 12 bags and exploding for 13 runs in the final four innings to hammer the Hawks 15-5 in the first of a three game series between the two.
  • Cotto's Gem Seals Series Win For Bucs

    Needing a win to clinch a series victory in their first Suncoast Conference series of the year, the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team turned to Enrique Cotto Friday afternoon at City of Palms Park as they took on Polk State.  Cotto came through, and then some, throwing a complete game while striking out a career high 12 in a 2-1 FSW victory to give the Bucs a 2-1 series win over the Eagles.  
  • Bucs Nipped by Polk to Even Series

    A four run 4th inning was too much for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team to overcome on the road at Polk State on Wednesday as the Eagles won a 4-3 decision to even their early season Suncoast Conference series at one game a piece with the rubber match coming Friday at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers. 
  • Bucs Open Title Defense with Win Over Polk

    The defending Suncoast Conference Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team got their title defense off to a good start Monday night at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers, beating the visiting Polk State 9-5 to kick off a three game series with the Eagles.
  • Bucs Bash #18 Miami Dade

    The Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team is going to hope that there were a few more February 29ths than there actually are, as the Bucs snapped out of a mini slump Saturday afternoon on Leap Day with a dominating 12-1 run rule victory over the #18 Miami Dade Sharks to send themselves into Suncoast Conference action on Monday on a high note.
  • Sharks Keep Bucs at Bay in 5-2 Win

    There was lots of scoring early and then nothing for the final six innings Friday afternoon as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took on the #18 Miami Dade Sharks in the second game of their three game split site series.  Unfortunately for the Bucs, a four run 3rd inning for the Sharks was too much to overcome as Miami Dade clinched the series win with a 5-2 victory.  The same two teams will wrap up the series Saturday at 1 in Fort Myers. 
  • Middle Innings Doom Bucs in Loss to #18 Miami Dade

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got out to a good start Thursday night at City of Palms Park, but had a meltdown in the middle innings, allowing seven runs in the 5th and 6th frames to fall 9-5 in the first of a three game series with the #18 Miami Dade Sharks. 
  • Bucs Baseball Pushed Back to Thursday

    An early morning shower and more rain forecasted Wednesday evening have forced the postponement of the Florida SouthWestern/Miami Dade Baseball game scheduled to be played Wednesday at 5 PM at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers. The Bucs and Sharks will now begin their three game series on Thursday at 5 PM at City of Palms and will play again on Saturday at 1 PM in Fort Myers.
  • Bucs Score 14 Unanswered In Run Rule Win

    The Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team put together a wild turnaround Monday night at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, going from 6-2 down to winning 16-6 two innings later, improving to 12-6 on the year with the run rule victory in eight innings against ASA Miami.

    Four pitchers combined on a no-hitter Saturday afternoon for the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team as the Buccaneers blanked Elev8 Academy 9-0 to improve to 11-6 on the year.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team broke out the bats on Wendesday night at City of Palms Park, ripping 15 hits in a 13-5 win over ASA-Miami. 
  • Bucs Falter Late Against Miami Dade

    The script flipped for the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team on Sunday as instead of coming from behind themselves, Miami Dade came back on them, using three 8th inning FSW errors to score three runs in a 6-4 to drop the Bucs to 9-6 on the year.

    The comeback kids did it again on Saturday, as the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team came from three runs down in the final two innings to defeat St. Johns River 8-6 to improve to 9-5 on the year.  
  • Valentine's Day Split For FSW

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team wrapped up day one at the Capital City Bank Classic 1-1 on Friday, falling to #7 Northwest Florida State 3-0 in their opener before defeating Gulf Coast State 12-5 in the night cap of their split doubleheader.  
  • Bucs Strong-Arm Broward For 11-1 Road Win

    One week ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team needed extra innings to knock off the Broward Seahawks at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers.  Wednesday, that would not be the same story as five Buccaneer pitchers held the Seahawks to just three hits and the FSW offense put up 10 runs over the final four innings of the contest as the Bucs hammered Broward on their home field 11-1. 
  • Comeback Kids Do It Again! Bucs Walk Off San Jac in 10

    One thing the 2020 version of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team has taught us early in the season is, you better not leave the ballpark early, no matter what the score is.  For the third time in two days, the Bucs mounted a furious late game comeback Saturday night, erasing a 6-3 ninth inning deficit against national power San Jacinto, to tie it in their final at bats and then win it 7-6 in extra innings on a walk off single from Tommy Joseph at 1:05 Sunday morning. 
  • Bucs Come Up Short Against Chipola in Weekend Finale

    Playing in their sixth game in six days, the #20 Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team finally ran out of gas on Sunday, dropping a 6-3 decision to #5 Chipola to fall to 6-4 on the year. 
  • Bucs Come From Behind to Knock Off #3 Walters State

    For the second time in as many days, the #20 Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team stunned the #3 Walters State Senators, Saturday putting up a six run sixth inning for an 8-4 come from behind win against the 2018 National Runners-Up. 
  • Deja Vu! Heisler Picks Up Second Extra Innings Walk Off In Three Days

    For the second time in three days, the #20 Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team got a walk-off victory Friday night.  That in itself is not overly unusual, but add in the fact that it was the same winning score (6-5), they were both in extra innings, and the same hitter, Noah Heisler, was responsible for both of the game winning hits, and it makes for a feat that even the history rich game of baseball has rarely seen.  The 6-5 win for the Bucs over #3 Walters State marks the second straight season that FSW has knocked off a top five Senators team in Marianna. 
  • Heisler's Walk Off Gives Bucs Extra Innings Win

    It wasn't the prettiest, but the end result was the day's goal Wednesday night as the #20 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team took on the Broward Seahawks at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers.  After jumping out to a 3-1 lead after an inning of play, the Bucs led for eight innings before watching their lead evaporate in the ninth to send the game to extra innings. That's when Noah Heisler came up with the biggest swing of his young FSW career, lacing a single through the hole on the left side for a walk off RBI single to give the Bucs a 6-5 win to even their record at 3-3 on the year.

    The early season offensive woes continued for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team Tuesday afternoon across Alligator Alley as they took on Miami Dade in non-conference action. The Bucs were shutout 7-0 by the Sharks, managing just five hits while striking out 12 times in a defeat to send them to 2-3 on the early season.  
  • Adams' Gem Highlights Bucs' Super Sunday Win

    Florida SouthWestern State righthander Mason Adams was super on Super Bowl Sunday at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, throwing six scoreless innings to pave the way for a 4-1 FSW win over Gulf Coast State to close out the 2020 Marissa Gusto Memorial Tournament.
  • Bucs Drop Top 20 Matchup With Chipola

    The #20 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will look back on missed chances as the cause for their 7-1 loss to #5 Chipola Saturday night at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers.  The Bucs left nine runners on, failing to take advantage of eight free passes by Indian pitching to fall to 1-2 on the year. 
  • Bucs' Bats Push #20 FSW Past Silver Storm in Home Opener

    A season ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had to get creative in scoring their runs.  The Bucs led the state in walks, hit batters, and stolen bases in 2019, but early on in 2020, it doesn't look like runs will come at such a premium for them.  Friday night #20 FSW pounded out 13 hits and got four solid innings of work out of their bullpen to push past ASA-Miami 7-3 in their opening game of the Marissa Gusto Memorial Tournament to even up their early season record at 1-1.
