  • Bucs' Fote Signs With Central Connecticut State

    After one season in the Sunshine State, Florida SouthWestern freshman Tyler Fote will head North, signing with NCAA Division I Central Connecticut State where he will have four years to compete with the Blue Devils. 
  • 21 FSW Student-Athletes Earn NJCAA All-Academic Honors

    After posting the highest winning percentage in the Suncoast Conference on the court and in the field for the second straight season this year, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers showed their true STUDENT-Athlete prowess on Wednesday as a conference high 21 Bucs earned NJCAA All-Academic Team honors.

    They say lightning never strikes the same place twice.  That may be true, but in early February, the stars aligned perfectly twice in three days for Florida SouthWestern’s Noah Heisler and the Bucs’ sophomore took advantage, bringing us to our #5 moment on our countdown of the Top 10 moments of the FSW Athletics year- Heisler’s back to back extra innings walk-offs.

    The 2020 version of the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team was undoubtedly known for their ‘Cardiac Kids’ moniker, rarely failing to keep fans on the edge of their seats until the final out of the 9th inning…. Or beyond.  Our #7 moment on our countdown of the Top 10 FSW Athletics moments of 2019-20 shows just that, as the Bucs rallied from three down in the 9th to force extra innings and eventually walk off national power San Jacinto with a victory.
  • NJCAA/FCSAA Approve Return to Play Plan For 2020-2021

    After a series of one after another bad news reports regarding COVID-19 ended their 2019-2020 athletics year in March, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got some good news on Thursday as the FCSAA Council of Presidents approved the NJCAA and the FCSAA AD’s plans to play the 2020-2021 seasons as planned, beginning in August. 
  • Dobyanski Inks with South Alabama

    Another Florida SouthWestern Baseball player is headed to the Division I level as switch hitting outfielder Drake Dobyanski signed with the University of South Alabama where he will team up with former Buc Nate Madej who signed with the Jaguars last year. 
  • Florida SouthWestern Baseball Team of the Decade- 2010s

    Today, we begin the first of a four part series, looking at the Teams of the Decade for the four Florida SouthWestern State programs respawned in 2016.  Our first subject, the Buccaneers Baseball team. While the decade of the 2010s only included four seasons for the FSW Baseball team, there were plenty of highlights for the Bucs, including  Suncoast Conference Championship and their first trip to the FCSAA State Tournament to close it out.
  • Bucs Slugger Marcano Signs with National Power Southeastern

    After helping revive the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball program the past two seasons, Buccaneer slugger Jose Marcano has signed with NAIA national powerhouse Southeastern University in Lakeland.

    Florida SouthWestern righthander Danny Galvan has signed to continue his career at Keiser University next season. 
  • Burton to Team Up with Bagnieski at Radford

    There will be two Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers playing in Radford, Virginia next season after righthander Ty Burton signed to join Bucs teammate Connor Bagnieski with the Highlanders of Radford University for the 2020-2021 season on Friday.

    After a short stay in Fort Myers, Florida SouthWestern's Cameran Brantley is headed back to the NCAA Division I level, signing with North Carolina A&T on Tuesday to play his final three seasons in Greensboro with the Aggies.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team was one day away from reaching the midpoint of their 2020 season when it was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite the shortened campaign, the Bucs put together plenty of highlight worthy moments, ultimately finishing the year at 16-11.

    Of the 75 athletes that originate from outside of the United States between Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Southwestern State College, a good amount are stuck in Fort Myers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • NJCAA Cancels Remainder of 2020 Winter & Spring Sport Seasons

    After careful thought and consideration, the NJCAA has decided to cancel the rest of the 2020 Athletics season due to the rapidly changing situation concerning COVID-19. The cancellation effects the Florida SouthWestern State Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams as well as the Bucs’ Baseball and Softball squads. 
  • Bucs' Joseph Inks With Jacksonville

    In the midst of a big sophomore season, Florida SouthWestern State slugger Tommy Joseph has signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his playing and academic career at Jacksonville University next season.
  • FCSAA Suspends All Competitions Through March 28th
    March 12, 2020
    Due to the continued concern of COVID-19 the the FCSAA has suspended all competitions, effective immediately, through March 28th.   At that time, the organization's Council of Presidents will reaccess the situation and determine whether they feel competition between teams is safe once again.
  • Bucs Bats Silent in Loss to Hillsborough

    Marc Davis threw seven solid innings for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team Wednesday afternoon on the road in Tampa, but the Bucs bats could never get anything going against Hillsborough pitching, managing just five hits and one run in a 6-1 loss that clinched the series win for the Hawks in the first of two sets between the two teams this season.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers' defense let them down Monday night at City of Palms Park, committing a season high five errors in an 8-4 loss to visiting Hillsborough to even up their three game Suncoast Conference season at a game apiece.  
  • FSW Runs Wild in Win Over Hawks

    One season ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team stole a school record 13 bases in a game against the Hillsborough Hawks. Saturday, they were at it again against their Suncoast Conference rivals, swiping 12 bags and exploding for 13 runs in the final four innings to hammer the Hawks 15-5 in the first of a three game series between the two.
  • Cotto's Gem Seals Series Win For Bucs

    Needing a win to clinch a series victory in their first Suncoast Conference series of the year, the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team turned to Enrique Cotto Friday afternoon at City of Palms Park as they took on Polk State.  Cotto came through, and then some, throwing a complete game while striking out a career high 12 in a 2-1 FSW victory to give the Bucs a 2-1 series win over the Eagles.  
  • Bucs Nipped by Polk to Even Series

    A four run 4th inning was too much for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team to overcome on the road at Polk State on Wednesday as the Eagles won a 4-3 decision to even their early season Suncoast Conference series at one game a piece with the rubber match coming Friday at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers. 
  • Bucs Open Title Defense with Win Over Polk

    The defending Suncoast Conference Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Baseball team got their title defense off to a good start Monday night at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers, beating the visiting Polk State 9-5 to kick off a three game series with the Eagles.
  • Bucs Bash #18 Miami Dade

    The Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team is going to hope that there were a few more February 29ths than there actually are, as the Bucs snapped out of a mini slump Saturday afternoon on Leap Day with a dominating 12-1 run rule victory over the #18 Miami Dade Sharks to send themselves into Suncoast Conference action on Monday on a high note.
  • Sharks Keep Bucs at Bay in 5-2 Win

    There was lots of scoring early and then nothing for the final six innings Friday afternoon as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took on the #18 Miami Dade Sharks in the second game of their three game split site series.  Unfortunately for the Bucs, a four run 3rd inning for the Sharks was too much to overcome as Miami Dade clinched the series win with a 5-2 victory.  The same two teams will wrap up the series Saturday at 1 in Fort Myers. 
  • Middle Innings Doom Bucs in Loss to #18 Miami Dade

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got out to a good start Thursday night at City of Palms Park, but had a meltdown in the middle innings, allowing seven runs in the 5th and 6th frames to fall 9-5 in the first of a three game series with the #18 Miami Dade Sharks. 
  • Bucs Baseball Pushed Back to Thursday

    An early morning shower and more rain forecasted Wednesday evening have forced the postponement of the Florida SouthWestern/Miami Dade Baseball game scheduled to be played Wednesday at 5 PM at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers. The Bucs and Sharks will now begin their three game series on Thursday at 5 PM at City of Palms and will play again on Saturday at 1 PM in Fort Myers.
  • Bucs Score 14 Unanswered In Run Rule Win

    The Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team put together a wild turnaround Monday night at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, going from 6-2 down to winning 16-6 two innings later, improving to 12-6 on the year with the run rule victory in eight innings against ASA Miami. 
  • Bucs Combine For No-Hitter in Win
    February 22, 2020
    Four pitchers combined on a no-hitter Saturday afternoon for the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team as the Buccaneers blanked Elev8 Academy 9-0 to improve to 11-6 on the year.
