TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Posting three straight double-doubles in Florida SouthWestern wins last week, sophomore big man Jafeth Martinez has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week, the first Buccaneer to win the award this season.

Martinez led the Bucs to three straight wins last week, averaging 14.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game while shooting 67% from the field.  He started the week with a 15 point, 12 rebound double-double in 28 minutes of action to lead the Bucs to a win over Santa Fe. He backed that up with another double-double two days later on the road at St. Petersburg, tying a career high with 16 points and ripping down 13 rebounds as the Bucs raced past the Titans 81-58.  It was more of the same on Saturday as he posted his third straight double-double, chipping in 13 points and 10 rebounds as FSW beat Santa Fe for the second time on the week 76-66.

Martinez is the first FSW player to earn the award this season and the first since Dezdrick Lindsay won it in early February of the 2024 campaign.

Martinez and the Bucs will look to remain hot on Wednesday when they return home for a key Citrus Conference matchup with Miami Dade beginning at 7 PM.
