Bucs Big Man Earns FCSAA Player of the Week Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a pair of wins last week, big man Chol Machot has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as announced by the State Tuesday morning. 

Machot averaged 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game in two Bucs wins last week.  Wednesday against Miami Dade he scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds in an FSW win over the Sharks and he backed that up with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots as the Bucs cruised past Indian River on Saturday.

On the season Machot is averaging 11.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 60% from the field. He leads the FCSAA and ranks in the top 10 Nationally averaging 2.7 blocked shots per game. 

It is the second straight week an FSW player has garnered Player of the Week honors after Jafeth Martinez took home the award last week. 

Machot and the Bucs will learn their FCSAA Tournament draw on Friday and will start play in the eight team event on Thursday, March 13th in Niceville.
