Freshman (2019): Mendes played in 23 matches for the Bucs as a freshman in 2019. She was a 2nd Team All-Conference pick after averaging 2.43 kills and 0.72 blocks per set on the right side. The lefty had 10 different matches in which she recorded 10 or more kills including three straight in mid-September. She posted career highs of 16 kills against top 10 ranked opponents in Miami Dade and Hillsborough. She had four of more blocks eight different times including a career high six on the opening day of the 2019 season against Pasco-Hernando. She had a pair of double-doubles in back to back contests, registering 12 kills and a career high 17 digs against Palm Beach before going for 10 kills and 10 digs in a road win over #9 St. Petersburg.
High School: Mendes was one of seven Brazilian natives on the Bucs roster in 2019. She made her way to Fort Myers from Lavras, Minas Gerais where she attended Escola Estadual Monsenhor Joao Alves and was named the MVP of the Regional Championships in 2015. She led her team to a number of championships including the Regional and State of the School Games in Minas in 2016.
Personal: Born May 16, 2000, she is the daughter of Sidney and Silvana Mendes. She has one brother, Diego (17).
