TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After leading Florida SouthWestern to the FCSAA Final Four and winning the state's first Triple Crown since 2017, Buccaneers slugger Victor Figueroa has been named the 2024 FCSAA Male Athlete of the Year.
Figueroa becomes the first FSW male student-athlete to be named the FCSAA Athlete of the Year and just the second overall, joining Bucs Softball star Belle Sardja who won the Female Athlete of the Year in 2023. Figueroa ends his Buccaneer career as the most decorated male student-athlete in FSW history, now having earned FCSAA Athlete of the Year, 1st Team NJCAA All-American, FCSAA and Citrus Conference Player of the Year, as well as 1st Team All-FCSAA and All-Citrus Conference accolades. His 2024 was one for the ages, becoming the first FCSAA hitter to win the Triple Crown since the 2017 season, hitting .421 with 17 home runs and 79 RBIs on the year. He set new FSW single season records with his .421 average while also putting himself at the top of the Bucs single season hits (88) and RBIs (79) lists. He will play next season at the University of Pittsburgh.
