Brodeur Signs With Bulldogs

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern reliever Colin Brodeur is headed to the Division I level after signing with the Bulldogs of Bryant University on Tuesday.

Brodeur pitched in 17 games for the Bucs this season, going 4-3 with a save out of the FSW bullpen. He logged 37 1/3 innings, posting a 4.82 ERA while holding opponents to a .265 batting average against him.  He had seven scoreless appearances this season, most notably a 4 1/3 inning effort against Eastern Florida State to help the Bucs inch closer to a playoff berth and earlier in the season two clean innings with three strikeouts in a win over eventual National Runner-Up Wabash Valley in the Perfect Game Classic.

Brodeur will join a Bryant squad coming off of a 26-24 campaign in which they were right in the thick of the America East standings with a 12-12 mark.

Brodeur is the eighth FSW sophomore to sign at the Division I level this season and the 10th overall to sign to move onto the four year level, joining AJ Shaver (Troy), Derek Williams (Wichita State), Tyler Kennedy (Texas State), Henry Hardie (High Point), Marty Gair & Lucas Hartman (Florida Gulf Coast), Albert Serrano (Wagner), Kelan Hoover (Wingate), and Yariel Diaz (Middle Georgia State).
