Bucs Gair Picked By Phillies in MLB Draft
SEATTLE, Wash.- Florida SouthWestern righthander Marty Gair has been selected in the 13th round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Gair was 3-1 with a team best 1.75 ERA for the Bucs in his only season in Fort Myers.  He logged 36 innings and racked up 52 strikeouts, good for a clip of 13.00 per nine innings pitched which ranked in the top five in the state of Florida.  Gair was Mr. Consistent for FSW, never allowing more than two earned runs in a game in nine starts.  His best showing of the season came against East Georgia State when he struck out 12 and allowed just two hits in 4 2/3 innings of work against the Bobcats.

Gair is the eighth FSW played overall and sixth pitcher to be drafted by a Major League Baseball organization in the past three seasons.

The Draft continues this afternoon with at least two other Bucs expecting to hear their name called before day's end.
