Ellerts Named Honorable Mention All-American

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After going a perfect 10-0 as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers number one starter this season, ace Magnus Ellerts has been named an Honorable Mention NJCAA All-American as released by the National Office on Monday.

Ellerts started a team high 14 games for FSW this season, going unbeaten at 10-0 with a 2.48 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 69 innings pitched on the season.  Ellerts was one of just five pitchers in the NJCAA Division I ranks to have at least 10 wins without a loss this season and his 2.48 ERA was the third lowest of that group.  He ranked in the top 20 in the country in all three Triple Crown categories (Wins, ERA, Strikeouts), one of just six pitchers nationally to do so.

Ellerts was one of just five FCSAA athletes to earn All-American honors in 2022, joined by Caleb Cali and Ben Chestnutt from Central Florida, Jack Duffy of Polk State, and Tucker Flint of Chipola.

It is the third straight season an FSW pitcher has earned All-American honors as Ellerts joins Antonio Knowles (First Team/2021) and Ryan Gusto (Second Team/2019) on the Bucs exclusive list.

Ellerts, who is currently playing in the Nation's top collegiate summer baseball league in Cape Cod, will likely have a decision to make next month when he is expected to be an early draft pick in July's Major League Baseball Draft while also having signed to pitch at the University of Florida next season.
