Bucs Head to Postseason Ranked 8th

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved up in the NJCAA National Rankings for the third straight week on Monday, inching up a spot to #8 as they head into the postseason beginning this weekend.

FSW closed the regular season with a pair of dominating victories last week, shutting out ASA Miami 9-0 on Monday before hammering State College of Florida 14-5 in their finale Wednesday. The Bucs wrapped up the regular season 40-14 overall and will head into this weekend's NJCAA Region VIII Tournament riding a six game winning streak.

There was some reshuffling in the week 10 poll, but not much movement as no team moved up or down more than one spot as the season begins it's final push.  Walters State, Chipola, Wabash Valley, McLennan, and Crowder continued to pace the pack while Harford was the lone newcomer to the poll.  The Bucs were one of three teams from Florida in the top 11 of the rankings with Chipola leading the way at #2 and Central Florida checking in three spots behind FSW at #11.

FSW begins their quest for their first Region VIII Championship this weekend at home at City of Palms Park as they host Indian River in the Fort Myers Regional Friday and Saturday in a best two out of three series with the winner moving onto the final four in Lakeland May 12-15.
