CHARLOTTE, N.C.- A pair of losses last week cost the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers in this week's NJCAA National Rankings as the Bucs dropped four spots to #11 in the week eight poll.
The Bucs are 34-14 overall after wins over ASA Miami and State College of Florida and loses to #19 Miami Dade and the Manatees last week. FSW continues to have a tight grip on the top spot in the Suncoast Conference standings, entering Monday at 19-4 in league play, three games better than second place Polk State with five games left to go.
Walters State continued their stand at #1 while Wabash Valley, Chipola, Crowder, and McLennan all moved up a spot to make up the top five. The Bucs and the three other FCSAA conference leaders all found themselves in the Top 20 this week as Chipola was #3, the Bucs #11, Central Florida #15, and Miami Dade #18.
The Bucs wrap up their Suncoast Conference series with State College of Florida this afternoon at City of Palms Park in a 3 PM first pitch from Downtown Fort Myers.
