Regalado Signs With Cross Town Eagles

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Nicholas Regalado will remain in Fort Myers for two more seasons, but it won't be with the Bucs, after the right hander signed with Florida Gulf Coast University to pitch for the Eagles in 2023.

Regalado will begin his lone season with the Bucs later this month after transferring to FSW from Miami where he pitched in eight games for the Hurricanes a season ago.  Regalado finished with a 5.40 ERA, striking out more than a batter an inning in his 11 2/3 innings pitched.

Regalado will join an FGCU program that finished 28-20 last season, winning the ASUN's South Division with a 12-6 record.

Regalado is the fifth Division I and seventh overall signee for the Bucs during the early signing period, joining Magnus Ellerts (Florida), Grant Besser (Rutgers), Riley Skeen (South Florida), Matthew Corpas (Florida International), Frank Ellisalt (Nova Southeastern), and Kalvin Alexander (Georgia Southwestern).

Regalado and the Bucs will open their 2022 season on January 28th when they host the Marissa Gusto Memorial Tournament in downtown Fort Myers.
