Bucs Righthander Signs With Sharks

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Following a stellar fall season on the mound for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, sophomore righthander Frank Elissalt has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Nova Southeastern next season.

Before transferring to FSW, Elissalt spent his freshman season at LaSalle University where he was a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American and a 2nd Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference selection.  He was a workhorse, logging 76 1/3 innings, striking out 95 while going 6-4 with a 3.42 ERA. He had five games of 10 or more strikeouts including an 11 punchout performance against UMass where he went seven shutout innings in a win for the Explorers.

After pitching for the Bucs this Spring, Ellisalt will join a tradition rich Nova program that has topped the 30 win plateau in each of the past five complete seasons.  The Sharks are led by Head Coach Laz Gutierrez who was a two time World Series Champion with the Boston Red Sox before taking over the Nova program in 2019.

Ellisalt is one of six early signees for the Bucs this fall joining Magnus Ellerts (Florida), Riley Skeen (South Florida), Grant Besser (Rutgers), Matthew Corpas (Florida International), and Kalvin Alexander (Georgia Southwestern).

Ellisalt and the Bucs will open their 2022 campaign on January 28th when they host the Marissa Gusto Memorial Tournament in downtown Fort Myers.
