FORT MYERS, Fla.- Elev8 Academy wasn't ready for what hit them Wednesday afternoon at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers.  The #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers blasted grand slams in back to back innings and Marc Davis sparkled with nine strikeouts in three innings as the Bucs raced past Elev8 17-1 in a seven inning run rule to earn their 30th win of the year.

The Bucs got on the board first as Christian Lucio banged a ball off the center field wall for an RBI triple in the 1st to give FSW an early 1-0 lead.

With a bevy of scouts on hand to watch him, FSW starter Marc Davis shined, striking out the side in each of the first three innings to keep the Bucs up 1-0.

The Bucs put up a touchdown in the 3rd as Lucio and Matthew Corpas singled home runs before Noah Heisler lined a grand slam out to left to make it 8-0 FSW after three.

Elev8 scored their lone run of the game in the top of the 4th, but the Bucs bats were back at it in the bottom of the frame.

Jordon Campbell got the scoring started for the Bucs in the 4th with a two run triple to right and FSW added two more before loading the bases for Kendry Noriega who unloaded on a 2-1 pitch over the left field wall for a grand slam to make it 16-1 Bucs.

Ronny Medina singled home another run for the Bucs in the 5th and the FSW bullpen shut down Elev8 for the final two innings to finish off a 17-1 run rule win at stretch time.

Heisler finished 2-4 with a homer and five RBIs for FSW while Noriega went 1-2 with a homer and two walks while driving in four.  Lucio had three hits in four trips to the plate and Luis Tuero reached in all three plate appearances and scored three runs for the Bucs. Davis earned the win on the mound, going three innings, striking out nine of the ten hitters he faced to improve to 2-1 on the year.

FSW picks up their 30th win of the year, improving to 30-10 overall.
