FORT MYERS, Fla.- The #20 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the Hillsborough Hawks hooked up Saturday afternoon at City of Palms Park for the first of a three game Suncoast Conference series between the two.  Neither team would win on this day though as after FSW jumped ahead 2-0 early on, the skies opened and the game was suspended with the Bucs leading 2-0 in the top of the 3rd inning.  The game will resume Tuesday at 2:00 PM in Downtown Fort Myers.

The Bucs got off to a good start as Abimelec Ortiz doubled with one out in the 1st and Christian Lucio hit a towering home run to right to give FSW a quick 2-0 lead.

Alex Ayala was in a groove on the mound, tossing a 1-2-3 1st and getting a double play to get out of the 2nd before quickly retiring the first two hitters of the 3rd inning.  After a walk and a hit batter, the rain began to fall, forcing the suspension of the contest.

The game will resume on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at City of Palms Park with the Bucs leading 2-0 and Hillsborough hitting with two on and two out in the top half of the 3rd.

The Bucs and Hawks will continue their series Monday at 2:00 PM in Tampa before returning back to Fort Myers for now game two and game three Tuesday and Wednesday to wrap up the three game set.
