KENDALL, Fla.- Ronny Medina came up just a triple short of the cycle and the Florida SouthWestern State bullpen went 5 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run as the Buccaneers upended the #15 Miami Dade Sharks 8-6 Friday afternoon in Kendall to improve to 15-7 on the year.

The Bucs got out to an early lead against the Sharks when Ronny Medina doubled home a run and later scored on an RBI single from Kalvin Alexander to give FSW a 2-0 advantage after an inning and a half of play.

The Bucs opened up their lead to 5-0 in the 3rd when Matthew Corpas homered on a towering ball to left and Jared Campbell tripled into the gap to score a run before scoring on an RBI single from Christian Lucio.

FSW made it a 6-0 game in the 4th without ever putting the ball in play as Carter Cunningham was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a while pitch, stole third, and scored on a fielder's choice to give the Bucs a six run advantage.

Miami Dade began making their move back into the game in the bottom of the 4th, getting back to back RBI knocks to cut the Bucs lead in half at 6-3.

Medina homered on a 2-1 pitch with one out in the 5th for the Bucs to stretch the lead back to 7-3 and it remained that way two innings later at stretch time.

An FSW error allowed two runs to score in the bottom of the 7th to make it a 7-5 game.

Warnner Rincones singled up the middle to drive home a run for an FSW insurance run in the top of the 9th and they needed it as Miami Dade pushed a run across and brought the tying run to the on deck circle before Antonio Knowles slammed the door to close out an 8-6 win for the Bucs.

The Bucs banged out 13 hits in the win, led by Medina who finished a perfect 3-3 with a single, a double, and a home run while driving in a pair. Rincones, Campbell, and Alexander each had two hit games for the FSW offense. Alejandro Valliente earned his first FSW victory, going 2 2/3 out of the bullpen without allowing an earned run before Knowles nailed down his fifth save of the year with two innings and four strikeouts to close things out.

FSW improves to 15-7 on the year while Miami Dade falls to 11-9.

The Bucs are back in action on Saturday at City of Palms Park as they take on Pasco Hernando in a 1 PM first pitch in Downtown Fort Myers.
