FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have been a team that has put up runs in bunches early in games this season.  Unfortunately for them, Wednesday, the #15 Miami Dade Sharks were over an hour late getting to City of Palms Park for first pitch and it took the thump right out of the Bucs offense as FSW managed just three hits in a 6-4 loss to the Sharks to end their season long six game winning streak.

It was a bad start for the Bucs who fell behind 2-0 right away as Miami Dade singled on the first pitch of the game and after an error and a passed ball, got a single to bring two runs home to put FSW in an early hole.

Miami Dade extended their lead in the 3rd on a leadoff double and an RBI single, but FSW answered that with a run of their own as Ronny Medina scored on a wild pitch to make it a 3-1 game.

A walk, a double, and a sacrifice fly for Miami Dade increased their lead to 4-1 midway through the contest.

The Bucs finally broke through against Shark pitching in the bottom of the 5th as they used four walks and a Miami Dade error to get a three run inning started, the lone hit for FSW in the inning coming via an RBI single from Matthew Corpas to tie the game at 4.

It stayed a 4-4 game to the 8th when a bases loaded walk followed by a mishandled third strike allowed Miami Dade to score the go ahead runs without a hit to take a 6-4 advantage with just an inning and a half left to play.

The Bucs put the tying runs on base in the bottom of the 8th, but a pair of flyouts ended the threat and kept the Sharks in front 6-4 to the 9th.

Ronaldo Fernandez kept the game right there out of the FSW bullpen, but the Bucs couldn't string anything together in their final at bats as they went down 6-4 to snap their six game winning streak.

The Bucs managed just three hits in the loss, their lowest in a game this season.  Corpas had FSW's lone RBI in the defeat.  Carlos Rodriguez started and went four innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out six, but didn't factor into the decision.  Riley Skeen suffered the loss, allowing two runs in 1 2/3 innings to fall to 3-2 on the year.

FSW drops to 14-7 on the year while Miami Dade improves to 11-7.

The same two teams will play Friday in Miami in a 2 PM first pitch.
