DAVIE, Fla.- One week ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team needed extra innings to knock off the Broward Seahawks at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers.  Wednesday, that would not be the same story as five Buccaneer pitchers held the Seahawks to just three hits and the FSW offense put up 10 runs over the final four innings of the contest as the Bucs hammered Broward on their home field 11-1.

The Bucs got off to a good start as red hot Tommy Joseph singled to begin the game and two walks behind him loaded the bases with nobody out in the 1st.  A double play scored a run, but killed the rally as FSW settled for one in the inning to take an early 1-0 lead.

A leadoff double for Broward in the bottom half of the first and a two out error allowed the Seahawks to even up the score at 1 and that is how the game would remain all the way to the 6th, tied at 1 a piece.

Joseph started another rally for the Bucs in the 6th by walking to start the inning, later scoring on a sacrifice fly from Warnner Rincones to put FSW back ahead 2-1.  With two outs, they kept going as Connor Bagnieski banged an RBI double to center and Drake Dobyanski laid down a bunt to bring him home to push the lead to 4-1.

The Bucs bullpen kept it there to the 8th when they put up another crooked number to put the game away.  Two straight RBI knocks from Matthew Corpas and Dobyanski made it 6-1 and later in the frame a single from Daniel Maldonado and a perfectly executed double steal allowed another run to come home to stretch the FSW advantage to 8-1.

FSW added three more runs in the 9th for good measure and Ronny Medina punched out the side in the Broward half of the inning to finish the Seahawks off for an 11-1 Buccaneer victory.

FSW banged out 14 hits while five Buccaneer arms allowed Broward just three base hits in the contest.  All 10 FSW hitters appearing in the game reached base in the win, nine of them via hits.  Bagnieski, Dobyanski, and Rincones each had two hits and two RBIs for FSW while Bagnieski, Joseph, and Jose Marcano each scored twice in the win. Danny Galvan pitched three innings of one hit baseball to start the game for the Bucs while Alan Mercado, Daniel Vos, Ty Burton, and Medina combined for six scoreless innings of relief with 10 strikeouts and no walks.  Mercado earned the win, improving to 2-0 on the year.

The Bucs improve to 7-4 on the year with the victory while Broward falls to 1-6.

FSW is back in action this weekend when they travel to Palatka to take part in the St. Johns River Tournament.  They open play Friday against #7 Northwest Florida State at 1:30 PM.
