CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After a perfect 4-0 week to reclaim first place in the Suncoast Conference standings, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped two spots in the NJCAA National Rankings to #13 as released by the national office on Tuesday.
FSW is riding a seven game winning streak, moving to 36-11 overall on the year with a win on Monday. The Bucs have gotten it done on the mound during the stretch, allowing just 2.71 runs per game while posting a pair of complete game shutouts via Ryan Gusto and Mitch Myers.
The top five teams in the poll remained the same, but only Wabash Valley at #1 remained in the same spot. Wallace-Dothan moved to #2 and Northwest Florida State to #3 while Central Florida dropped to #4 and Walters State one spot to #5. John A. Logan was this week's biggest riser, moving from #14 to #11, while Cochise and Crowder took tumbles out of the top 10 to #15 and #16 respectively.
FSW is back in action Wednesday night at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers when they host Hillsborough in a key Suncoast Conference matchup at 6 PM.
