FSW Sophomore Spotlight- Jujlia Grubisic Cabo- Florida Gulf Coast
FORT MYERS, Fla.- The most decorated player in Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers history will be sticking around in Fort Myers for two more years, just in a little bit different colors as sophomore Julija Grubisic Cabo will follow former FSW Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen and teammate Abby Toeniskoetter across town to Florida Gulf Coast University next season.

Grubisic Cabo made the most of her lone season in the City of Palms, earning every major award possible while also leading the Bucs to their third straight NJCAA National Championship. She was the Citrus Conference, FCSAA, and NJCAA National Player of the Year while also being named the Most Valuable Player at both the FCSAA and NJCAA National Tournaments. She averaged 3.43 kills and 2.58 digs per set while hitting .351 which is the highest in a single season in program history by an FSW pin hitter. She was the model of consistency for the Bucs this season, recording 8 or more kills in 24 of 26 matches she played in while reaching double digit kills in 20 of them.

She joins an FGCU program coming off of four straight trips to the NCAA Tournament including one last fall in which they went 27-5 overall. The Eagles will have a heavy Bucs vibe in 2025 with Grubisic Cabo joining forces with former FSW Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen, fellow 2024 Buccaneer All-American Abby Toeniskoetter, and 2022 NJCAA National Player of the Year and FSW legend Barbara Koehler at FGCU.

Grubisic Cabo is one of eight Buccaneer sophomores to sign at the next level for 2025 including one of six at the NCAA Division I level.  She is joined by Nina Boledovicova (Virginia Commonwealth), Camilla Brandalise (Virginia Tech), Abby Toeniskoetter (Florida Gulf Coast), Anna Marzella (Southern Utah), Nele Broszat (Cal State Bakersfield), Clara Maidantchik (Lynn), and Sofia Augusto (Palm Beach Atlantic).
