Bucs Setter Earns Fourth Weekly Honor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Roberta Purashaj was honored by the state once again on Tuesday, earning her fourth FCSAA Setter of the Week award of the 2023 season. 

Purashaj averaged 9.9 assists per set in a pair of Bucs contests last week. She dished out 18 helpers in a 3-0 sweep of Santa Fe on Wednesday before putting up a 51 assist performance Saturday in a five set thriller against #6 Miami Dade. It marked the second 50 assist performance in the past four games for Purashaj and the third of her illustrious FSW career. She also chipped in on the defensive end, averaging 2.4 digs per set on the week including 13 against the Sharks Saturday to notch her 8th double-double of the season. 

Purashaj ranks in the top five in the country in assists per set on the season with 10.76 while she has quarterbacked her Bucs to the 2nd ranked team hitting percentage in the country at .311. 

Purashaj has now won FCSAA Setter of the Week honors four times this season and seven times in her Buccaneer career.

Purashaj and the Bucs will play their final regular season home game of the season in Suncoast Credit Union Arena on Wednesday at 6:30 when they host Indian River on Sophomore Night.  Purashaj and the Bucs other six sophomores will be recognized in a pregame ceremony alongside the Pioneers six sophomores.
