All-American Baker Signs With Radford

FORT MYERS, Fla.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a pair of Suncoast Conference Championships and a pair of Top 10 finishes at the NJCAA National Tournament, sophomore Fiona Baker has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Radford University the next two seasons.

Baker finishes her career as the Bucs all-time assists leader with 1,631 and also fifth in digs with 406 while playing in all 59 games the past two seasons. As a freshman she was named a 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-State selection while also earning 2nd Team NJCAA All-American honors, the first in FSW program history. As a sophomore in 2021 she was again one of the league's top players, picking up 2nd Team All-Conference accolades, helping lead the Bucs to their second straight Suncoast Conference Championship.

In her two seasons with FSW, Baker helped lead the Bucs to a 45-14 overall record, a perfect 24-0 mark in Suncoast Conference play and 5th and 8th place finishes at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Baker will join a Highlanders squad looking to regain their 2018 form when they finished 22-7 and won a match in the NIVC. Last season Radford was 6-22 overall and 4-11 in Big South play.

Baker is one of five Division I and eight overall four year signees for the Bucs this season and the 15th in the past two seasons, joining 2021 teammates Elissa Alcantara (Cincinnati), Maria Petkova (San Francisco), Riley Oglevie (Winthrop), Yunju Lee (Chicago State), Johnasia Carr (Alaska Fairbanks), Victoria Carioba (Park), and Katie Dickey (Montreat).
