Carioba Signs With National Finalists, Park

FORT MYERS, Fla.- After spending two seasons winning Championships with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, FSW sophomore Victoria Carioba will take her talents to the Show Me State next season where she will suit up for one of the teams that played for an NAIA National Championship last season, the Park University Pirates.

Carioba averaged 1.50 kills and 0.83 blocks per set this season as a sophomore, putting together a .412 hitting percentage at the net.  She was slowed by injuries in both seasons at FSW, but helped the Bucs to back to back Suncoast Conference Championships and two trips to the NJCAA National Tournament where they finished 8th in 2020 during her freshman season and 5th this year during her sophomore campaign.

She will join an equally successful program at Park University where the Pirates, like the Bucs, went undefeated in conference play this year, cruising to a Heart of America Championship with a perfect 19-0 record.  Park breezed to the NAIA National Championship game, dropping just two sets in five National Tournament matches, before coming up just short in a five set thriller against Missouri Baptist to finish as the runners-up.

Carioba is one of seven four year signee for the Bucs this season and the 14th in the past two seasons, joining 2021 teammates Elissa Alcantara (Cincinnati), Maria Petkova (San Francisco), Riley Oglevie (Winthrop), Yunju Lee (Chicago State), Johnasia Carr (Alaska Fairbanks) and Katie Dickey (Montreat).
