In her first season in Fort Myers, the Bucs won their ninth straight Conference Championship, their fourth FCSAA Championship, and made a run to the NJCAA National Championship Game where they finished as runners-up. The Bucs went 56-7 overall. She coached a pair of Bucs hitters to NJCAA All-American honors in Skylar Brennan who was a 1st Team pick and Virginia Mambelli who was a 3rd team selection.
She joined the college coaching ranks after spending four seasons as a student-athlete at the University of Texas and another at the University of Texas-Arlington, compiling a .407 career average for the Longhorns and Mavericks. As a junior Corona hit an even .500 to help lead Texas to the Women’s College World Series Finals. This summer Corona was the Game Day Operations Manager for the Lone Star State Collegiate League where she led a crew of five to execute a 36 game per week schedule serving over 80 student-athletes from around the country.
