Kwakernaak Picks Up Final FCSAA Pitcher of the Week Honors of '25

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the second time this season, Florida SouthWestern righthander Lizzy Kwakernaak has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week after throwing five no-hit innings in the Bucs win over St. Petersburg in their 2025 regular season finale.

Kwakernaak closed out the regular season in style for the Bucs, combining for a no-hitter with teammate Giorgiana Woods in a 10-0 win over St. Petersburg on Tuesday.  Kwakernaak fired five scoreless frames without allowing a hit, striking out six to earn the win to improve to 13-2 on the year.

It is the second time Kwakernaak has been honored by the State after also receiving Pitcher of the Week honors on March 11th.

Kwakernaak and the Bucs now have their sights on an FCSAA Championship as they begin postseason play at the tournament on Wednesday when they take on the winner of the Miami Dade/Gulf Coast State Wild Card Game in a 4 PM first pitch.
