TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- First career start, first career FCSAA Pitcher of the Week award for Florida SouthWestern righthander Lizzy Kwakernaak this week as she makes it back to back weeks for the Bucs to bring home the award, following teammate Zoe Yzaguirre who earned the honors in week two.
Kwakernaak shined in her first career start on Saturday, firing a complete game shutout against Santa Fe, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. In three appearances this season, Kwakernaak has not allowed a run while yielding just four hits and holding opponents to a .103 batting average against.
Kwakernaak and the Bucs are back in action Tuesday at 2 at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers when they host a Top 10 matchup against #6 Miami Dade.
