CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Off to a perfect 20-0 start to the 2025 season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took over the #1 spot in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday.
FSW had a big opening week of Citrus Conference play last week, going a perfect 6-0 while allowing just three runs in the process. The Bucs swept Hillsborough on Tuesday in a pair of run rule contests before returning home to Buccaneers Park where their pitching dominated #10 Seminole State and #13 Daytona State, willing 1-0 and 3-0 over the Raiders Thursday and 2-0 and 3-1 over the Falcons on Saturday to move to 20-0 on the year.
For the second straight week, the top three spots in the poll all belonged to FCSAA squads as FSW led Northwest Florida and Indian River in the top three while Miami Dade checked in at #7, Seminole State moved up one to #9, Daytona State remained at #13, Eastern Florida moved up two spots to #18, and Chipola and Central Florida were #23 and #24 to give Florida nine teams in the Top 25.
With the Bucs reaching the top spot in the poll, they have now been ranked #1 in six different seasons since restarting the program in 2016.
Next up for the Bucs is a monumental showdown Tuesday in Fort Pierce when the top ranked Bucs will face the team they took the #1 ranking from, now #3 Indian River in a Citrus Conference doubleheader beginning at 4 PM.
