Unbeaten Bucs Shoot Up To #2 In First Regular Season Rankings
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Off to a perfect 14-0 start to the 2025 season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved up to #2 in the first NJCAA Regular Season National Rankings of the season on Monday.

It has been a dominating start to the year for the Bucs who have outscored their opponents by nearly 100 runs (125-27) in a 14-0 beginning of the campaign. Eight of the Bucs 14 wins have been ended early due to run rules. The Bucs have three wins over Top 10 ranked opponents with one coming against #5 Walters State and two against #8 Southern Idaho.

The Week 1 National Rankings had a heavy Region VIII feel as the top three teams all hailed from the Sunshine State.  Defending National Champions Indian River held their spot at the top while the Bucs checked in one spot behind them at #2 and Northwest Florida who has already racked up 24 wins on the year was #3. McLennan and Grayson rounded out the Top 5.  Six other Florida squads, making a record breaking nine total found their way into the poll as undefeated Miami Dade was at #7, Seminole State was #10, Daytona State checked in at #13, Central Florida and Eastern Florida were back to back at #19 and #20, and Chipola rounded out the Top 25 in week one.

The Bucs have a heavy schedule on tap to begin Citrus Conference play this week as they travel to Tampa to take on Hillsborough Tuesday before returning home for doubleheaders against #10 Seminole State and #13 Daytona State Thursday and Saturday.
