TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the first time in her Florida SouthWestern State career, Buccaneers freshman Zoe Yzaguirre has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week as announced by the state on Wednesday.

Yzaguirre earned Pitcher of the Week honors after going a perfect 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA in a pair of appearances.  She racked up 13 strikeouts and walked just 3 on the week in her 12 innings of work.  Friday she came in out of the bullpen for the Bucs against Northwest Shoals and went five shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven to earn her second win of the season. Saturday she got the ball against Georgia Military and outdueled the Bulldogs 3-1, going the distance and allowing just four hits and one run while striking out six to lead the Bucs to victory.

Yzaguirre and the Bucs are back in action this weekend at home during the Paradise Cove Classic presented by the Retallick Financial Group. Thursday the Bucs play a pair of games on campus at 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM at Buccaneers Park followed by a tripleheader beginning at 10:30 AM at Lee Health Sports Complex on Friday.
