Bucs Ace Named NJCAA All-American
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a Citrus Conference Championship and a 7th place finish at the NJCAA World Series, sophomore pitcher Lea Chevrier has been named a Third Team NJCAA All-American, marking the eighth straight season an FSW pitcher has been named an All-American.

Chevrier ranked among the country's best in a number of different statistical categories this season.  Her .962 winning percentage was unmatched in the NJCAA Division I ranks and was 13 points higher than any other pitcher in the country.  Her 25 wins were 6th most while her 4 saves out of the bullpen ranked 8th. Chevrier posted a 1.80 ERA in 142 2/3 innings pitched which was 11th best of Division I hurlers who logged more than 100 innings pitched this season.

Chevrier wrapped up her Buccaneer career 38-3 with a 1.90 ERA in 258 1/3 innings pitched.  She finishes in the top five in program history in wins (38), winning percentage (.927), appearances (65), strikeouts (261), while setting a new all-time program record with 10 saves.

Chevrier joins an incredible list of FSW hurlers to be named NJCAA All-Americans, following in the footsteps of Belle Sardja (2023), Baylee Haggard (2022), Alyssa O'Donnell (2021), Kelsi Collins (2019), Giovanna Watts (2018), and Courtney Gettins (2017 & 2016). The Bucs have now had an All-American pitcher in all eight complete seasons played.
