FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will have a pair of Sand Sharks at the University of South Carolina Beaufort next season as outfielder Gabby Martin has signed to join 2023 FSW teammate Jaden Goodwin in the Palmetto State this fall.
Martin played for 15 games for the Bucs this season during their march to their third straight NJCAA National Championship. She hit .429 with a double, a triple, and four RBIs in 14 at bats. She had her best game as a Buc at the Paradise Cove Classic in early February when she was 2-3 with a run scored in a 13-9 win over St. Johns River.
The Sand Sharks struggled this season, going just 15-45 overall, but hope that the winning ways of Martin and Goodwin will help their transition to the NCAA Division II level where they will compete for the first time next season.
With Martin making it official, now nine FSW sophomores to sign at the four year level, including Belle Sardja (South Florida), Laura Vigna (Mercer), Kylee Graham (Toledo), Shenita Tucker (Lamar), Carys Platt (Louisiana-Monroe), Camille Graham (Embry-Riddle), Jaden Goodwin (USC Beaufort), and Caroline Figueroa (Barry).
