LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have three golden trophies sitting in their trophy case after winning back to back to back NJCAA National Championships from 2021-2023.  However, for the first time in program history, they will now have a Gold Glove sitting next to them as freshman Sydney McCray earned the Bucs first Gold Glove in program history as announced by the NFCA on Friday.

McCray spent time in all three outfield spots for the Bucs this season, committing just one error in 62 chances on the season.  She began her collegiate career with 54 straight games played without committing a miscue. While her range was her top defensive weapon, the speedster also gunned down three runners on the bases in 2023 including one in the Bucs opening game of the NJCAA World Series.

The Division I Gold Glove squad was dominated by Region VIII and Region V with McCray being joined by Indian River's Kyla Knier and Northwest Florida's Layla Thompson, while three Lone Star State players also made the team.
