From Buc to Buc, Figueroa Headed to Barry

FORT MYERS, Fla.- After two years as a Buccaneer at Florida SouthWestern, sophomore first baseman Caroline Figueroa will remain a Buccaneer for two more years, but it won't be in Fort Myers as the Bucs two time National Champion is headed to Barry University  next season.

Figueroa made her mark the past two years with FSW, putting back to back All-Conference campaigns together while helping lead the Bucs to back to back NJCAA National Championships.  In 104 career games played with FSW, Figueroa hit .336 with 20 doubles, 11 home runs, and 72 RBIs. Not afraid to take one for the team, Figueroa was also hit by 23 pitches in her two seasons, ranking in the top five in program history, giving her a .433 career on base percentage.  A max effort first baseman in the field for FSW, Figueroa went errorless in 157 chances as a freshman in 2022 and posted a career .990 fielding percentage.

Figueroa will join a Barry squad coming off of a 24-30 campaign and a 10-20 season in Sunshine State Conference competition.  She will look to bring her winning ways to Miami Shores to help get the Buccaneers back to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time since the 2013 season.

Figueroa becomes the fifth FSW sophomore to sign at the four year level off of their 2023 National Championship squad, joining Belle Sardja (South Florida), Laura Vigna (Mercer), Kylee Graham (Toledo), and Camille Graham (Embry-Riddle).
