TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the first time this season and the second time in her career, Florida SouthWestern ace Belle Sardja has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week as announced by the State Office on Tuesday.
Sardja continued her season long domination last week, spinning a pair of complete game victories against Miami Dade on Wednesday and Friday. In Wednesday's contest with the Sharks she allowed just two hits and one unearned run while Friday saw her just miss her second career no hitter as she went the distance in the shutout victory, allowing just one hit in the process.
On the season Sardja is 13-1 with a microscopic 0.53 ERA which leads the state of Florida and ranks third Nationally, while also leading the country with five saves.
Sardja and the Bucs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Melbourne to take on Eastern Florida State in a Southern Conference doubleheader beginning at 2 PM.
