Haggard, Poot, Vigna Earn NFCA All-American Honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Days after receiving NFCA All-South Region honors, a trio of Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers one upped themselves as they were named NFCA All-Americans in a release by the organization Friday afternoon.

Leading the three Bucs on the All-American squads was sophomore ace Baylee Haggard who was named a 1st Team NFCA All-American. Haggard ranked in the top 10 in the country this season in both wins and ERA, finishing the 2022 campaign with a 25-2 mark and a 1.40 ERA.  She was named both the Suncoast Conference and FCSAA State Pitcher of the Year during the regular season and pitched the Bucs to an 8-0 shutout win in their opening game of the NJCAA National Tournament against Georgia Military.

Feline Poot earns 2nd Team NFCA All-American honors for the second consecutive season after hitting .433 with 17 doubles, 14 home runs, and 73 RBIs on the year. Poot was the Bucs leader in both slugging at .787 and OPS at 1.257, powering FSW to their second consecutive NJCAA National Championship. She cranked three home runs at the National Tournament in Yuma, blasting two in the Bucs opening win over Georgia Military and drilling a solo shot to keep FSW's season alive with two outs in the bottom of the 7th against Odessa later in the tournament to ultimately earn All-Tournament Team honors.  She was named the Suncoast Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season in 2022 and earned Most Outstanding Defensive Player accolades at the NJCAA National Tournament.

The lone FSW freshman to earn All-American honors was outfielder Laura Vigna who collected a 2nd Team nod during her rookie campaign.  Vigna led the Bucs with a .454 average in 2022 while ripping a team best 24 doubles and scoring a team high 73 runs. Like Poot, Vigna came up big when the Bucs needed her the most, picking an opportune time to hit her first and only home run of her freshman season, launching a 2-1 pitch deep and out to center for a walk off bomb in the 10th inning of FSW's 10-9 win over Yavapai in the NJCAA National Tournament Quarterfinals.

The three All-American picks mark the third straight season for at least three Bucs to earn NFCA All-American honors.

Yavapai led all teams with six All-American selections including five 1st Team picks.  All told, including the six Roughrider selections, FSW faced 10 1st Team All-Americans and 15 overall All-Americans during their run to the NJCAA National Championship in Yuma, Arizona.
