LOUISVILLE, Ky.- After claiming the first NJCAA National Championship in program history, Head Coach Robert Iamurri and the Florida SouthWestern Softball coaching staff has been named the 2021 NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year.

Robert Iamurri, Kellie Quarles, Marta Fuentes, and Ryan Iamurri led the Bucs to a sparkling 49-4 record, winning 32 of their final 33 games of the season to bring home the first NJCAA National Championship in FSW history.  The Bucs were a perfect 19-0 in Suncoast Conference play, claiming their fifth conference title in as many tries, before punching their ticket to the National Tournament with a South Atlantic District Championship.  The Bucs road to a National Title wasn't easy however, as FSW needed to beat seven of the top 15 ranked teams in the country including three of the top five to move onto, and then win, the National Championship.  Overall the Bucs were 13-3 against top 15 ranked opponents on the season.

Individual honors continue to shower in on the Bucs who had 13 players named to the All-Conference Team, another seven to the FCSAA All-State squad, and four to the NFCA All-American Team.  At the NJCAA National Tournament, seven Bucs were honored as Janessa Plummer was named the Tournament MVP, Natavia Ellis the Most Outstanding Offensive Player, Taylor Jensen the Most Outstanding Defensive Player, and Alyssa O'Donnell, Rebeca Laudino, Owen Bowers, and Shanika Klett to the All-Tournament Team.

In six seasons at the helm for the Bucs, Iamurri is now 298-37 with a 94-5 record in Suncoast Conference play with as many Conference Championships as conference losses during his tenure.
